Sub-Basement Two

On the second sub-basement level is the X-Men's famous Danger Room, an impressively lethal training facility, a technological masterpiece and unique battle simulator.

Also on this level are emergency living quarters (complete with independant food storage), Cerebro's main banks, the X-Men's crime files and back up computers, the War Room, mission planning areas, a small library and reading room, and a Shi'ar power tap and transducing room. Also there is an access point to the Morlock Tunnels on this level.

The Morlock Tunnels Though the tunnels are occupied by the often-times hostile group of mutants known as the Morlocks, this underground labyrinth remains the weakest area of defense. Little is known regarding the original construction of the tunnels, which predates Morlock occupation. Because of the highly unstable and progressively deteriorating nature of these pathways, (further complicated by the presence of subterranian rivers with extremely dangerous currents) much of the tunnels remain uncharted-- while that which is known to us is constantly monitored by computer surveillance, with defensive stun beams installed at crucial junctures to prevent attack from this quarter. The tunnels do stretch as far as to New York itself.

NOTE: Admittance to the tunnels is strictly prohibited except in the event of a full-scale assault on the mansion. If all other alternative routes have been cut off, the tunnels may become an egress of last resort. Subterranian evacuation drills are held in the Danger Room holo-grid once a month. The entrance that is within the mansion is kept securely locked and monitored, as it is a potential weak link to the mansion, should the area be compromised. The link has not been severed because, ironically, it could also be an excellent emergency escape route should the need arise.
