The Danger Room

The Danger Room
This Ultimate Training Room is located on the second sub-basement within the mansion. The origanal Danger Room, where Xavier trained mutants in the use of their powers, was on the mansion's first floor and employed advanced techology designed on Earth, even encluded robots.

The current Danger Room instead employs Shi'ar technology, including extraordinary sophisticated holographic projectors. Virtually any enviroment can be duplicated within the new Danger Room by means of Shi'ar techology. X-Men training there may be pitted against formidable opponents that are actually either holograms or highly advanced robots, both created by Shi'ar means.

Using a mixture of holograms, solid light obstacles/threats and hi-tech electronics, any senario can be programmed into the room's computer memory and a game-play re-enacted. There are 120 different levels, to cover the various degress to which powers have been honed and hundreds of programs to stretch agility, adaptability and quick thinking of either individuals or teams. Because the threats within the Danger Room are real, strict security is enforced during any given senarios. In the past members of the X-Teams have narrowly escaped injury by not taking the training sessions seriously.

Features In The Danger Room:

Danger Room Master Control - The Danger Room is always monitored during a session by an outside party. This is done through the Direct Viewport. Viewing is "one way" with highly directional active photon filtering (APF). APF functions by turning on a forcefield so that the incident wavefront is altered to follow the room programming.

Shi'ar Fast Processing Computers - The basic Danger Room in/out system is maintained in the original Shi'ar fast processing computers, parts of which cover the entire inner surface of the Danger Room. Heating and cooling is all electronic.

Mobile Laser Cluster Heads - are moved over the danger room's surface to facillitate the placement of gravity lenses and associated effects.

Overlapping Gravity Fields - Solid surfaces with thoroughly realistic appearances are achieved with accurate surface texture modeling laid on polygonal surfaces of overlapping gravity fields.

Projectiles - are composed of rapidly moving and tightly focused pressor beams (force fields). they can be made non-lethal by reducing the momentum signature - this awareness of being hit is maintained without the loss of life.

Extensive Files and Modeling Programs - allow for a great variety of realistic environment as well as atmospheric and dust effects.

Progressive Waved Tractor/Pressor Beams - allow for realistic exhaust/wind effects.

Pinpoint Gravity Lenses - Projected pinpoint gravity lenses allow simple laser beams to be redirected as other light sources.

Pressor Beam Acoustic Engines And Lensing - allows for accurate noise level and frequencies.

Targeting and Communication Antennae - accurately modeled using gravity lensing, allows for direction-finding and ranging.

Internal Library - The Danger Room can synthesize random danger elements from its internal library of weapons files, alien combat files, or random danger generator.

Danger Room World View Model Library - has designed models of over 50 million objects and their attributes, included are: garbage cans (plus sub-elements) and buildings.

The Danger Room, in short, is dangerous. The higher the level, the more real the peril. It has continued to be a very important part of X-Men training throughout the years.

The War Room
Located next to the Dager Room's master control rool is the X-Men's War Room.

With the world becoming more and more violent, particularly for mutants, it has been ever more necessary to carefully monitor events on both local and international scales.

The X-Men's War Room is capable of doing that to an extremely high degree, constantly monitoring signals which range in origin from sources as diverse as CNN and the C.I.A. through to the BBC and S.H.I.E.L.D. The team can instantly find information live, from any place with broadcast technology.

Such information can be invaluable when travelling to a far-off country or an unknown area. This information can be complied and stored and used for debriefing on missions. Thousands of files on current operatives, allies and enemies can be instantly retrieved for the same purposes. As well as this 'hacking' ability, the War Room also allows less covert, but equally secure, communications with allies, such as the Avengers, Reed Richards or, when necessary, the government.

The latest technology, combined with Shi'ar and Forge's own designs, making tracing of any security leak back to the mansion impossible for outside intelligence.
